…because my query a week ago is the only one in the past week to go unanswered. Someone must know where to get these materials!
Two sources questions:
1. The “small cottage makes a big splash” article in current issue showed split cedar pickets around the entry porch in first photo – I’ve seen these used primarily as fencing on Orcas Island (Washington) also, but can’t find the source for them. I’m in Portland, Oregon.
2. Also looking for a source for peeled log posts, as I’ve seen in previous articles – 3 to 4 inch diameter.

Hey MWT,
I haven't seen the issue in question, but I'll take a stab at #1. There's a place near me called Sound Cedar--they're in Mt. Vernon, WA at 800-468-6081. If it's cedar they probably have it.
All sorts of places up here deal in split and sawn cedar products of all types, mostly from lumber cut nearby. Whatever you saw on Orcas probably came from within 30 miles.
Thanks David - I'll give them a call.
