Are conventional thickness blades better than thin kerf blades for a 12″ compound miter saw? I bought a DW705 12″ cms this year and want to buy a finish blade for finer cuts. Any recommendations as to brands, as well as discussion on blade thickness? Thanks.

Don,
I stay away from thin kerf blades- they seem to be more apt to not stay true. I buy only F S Tool brand blades- good stuff

*Ditto to Greg's preference for FS tool. I use their LM6300 (negative set with hi-AT) on my Dewalt and another FS on my Felder tablesaw.
*Gary, Do you know if they have a web page?

*I don't like thin kerf either. I don't really know why they were invented. I can't see much use for them, and they warp soooooooo easy.I buy Systimatic blades.Freud makes a good blade, but you pay for it.Ed. Williams
*Thank you Ralphie boy.
*Hey Ralph are you sure of the address? I keep getting a blank page.
*Don, It is true, thin kerfs stink if your going to be after precision cuts, I swear by Forrest blades (chopmaster), make sure if you get a thick kerf blade it has a negitive angle on the teeth to avoid kickback, it works. Good Luck
*Also don't like thin kerfs; also swear by FS Tools. Way better than Freud at 2/3 the cost in these parts; just turned a local sharpener on to them, and he was very impressed. Have a Chopmaster, but when it goes, it's getting replaced by a FS Tools blade.
*I checked it again. Still works for me. Did you click on the link or retype it? Just in case it's still a no-go for you:Customer service phone: 1-800-387-9723 fax: 1-800-361-5010
