things really are getting cheaper at hd,
gas at 4.00 a gal, health care 1200 a month, unemployment, banks folding, retirement funds evaporated etc. none of that bothers me.
what really bothers me is hd sells orange plastic buckets, that people throw away by the 1000’s,for 4.98.
but with all thats going on that sucks, just to make you all feel better about the economy,HD HAS LOWERD their price to only 2.98 a pc!!!!!!!
next time i’m there and have a full tank of gas i’m going to buy some.maybe i can trade a couple shares of ge for one.
are these a petroluem product?

I see they're on sale and will probably stock up.
but even at $5 ... that's cheap considering my time to clean them out.
I need them spotless for thinset and grout.
I also don't bother cleaning out the last batch of thinset or grout after each job ...
just let it set and toss it .... again .. my time is worth more than a $5 bucket.
I'm also big on "disposable" trowels. I have a good stock of "nice trowels" ...
but more and more I buy the cheapest I can find ... use it for one job ...
then toss it dirty into that dirty bucket of thinset.
not real "green" ... but greener money wise.
I'd rather drive home a bit early on a Fri than sit in someones driveway scrubbing buckets and trowels.

Bet you don't wash the dishes at home either;)I gotta show you some day how to clean dem buckets. Takes all of five minutes with a running hose and a scrub brush.Cheap trowels hurt my hand and are harder to use neatly.

You can get the old drywall mud out with a pressure cleaner in a minute or two. The only problem these days is finding someone actually hanging drywall. I think the whole county only opened about a half dozen permits this month.
Now all we need is a motor designed to run on orange buckets.
i used to have a bike that made cool sounds with ballons.......................if a man speaks in the forest, and there's not a woman to hear him,is he still wrong?
Today, I needed a bucket and bought one at the paint store for $5.98. Then swung by the HD to pickup a couple of bags of Sakrete and saw stacks of the orange buckets for $2.98! Bummer. Then, on my way down to the Sakrete aisle, I noticed "new, lower price" stickers on a bunch of Andersen windows. Sure enough, just about a week ago I bought four Andersen Tiltwash windows for $277 apiece. Today, they were $239. You think they'll give me back the difference??
if you have the reciept they will refund you the difference with no problem.if they won't give you cash ,you could trade it out for orange buckets!if a man speaks in the forest, and there's not a woman to hear him,is he still wrong?
I too, saw the "new" price for the Orange buckets...and I bought two to give me some room to mix-and-match several 5-gallon buckets of paint, so the shades are the same... REZ would be proud of me....
First of all, I think these new HD buckets are thinner than the old-style originals, what do you think?
Also, as I walk the isles of both HD and Lowes, I get the feeling that there are a lot of "Yellow Tag" closeouts.... More than usual and in almost every department.... I'm getting the feeling that the stores are downsizing their inventories and trying to get rid of a lot of products. You get that feeling?

for $160 bucks you can physically return them, get the cash or store credit, then buy the same ones at the new price.

I would return them in a heartbeat, but all I have left are the boxes. I'm taking Larry's advice and bringing in my receipt. Can't hurt to ask.
I would not been seen dead wit a HD orange bucket, I still have a tiny shred of self respect..
Ah, if it makes ya feel better sharpie "sucks" on them.
At $3 a piece, they are handy.
If anyone hears of me actually buying either a 5 gal. bucket or a carp. pencil, please, just shoot me and put me out of my misery.
My sentiments exactly, as I was paying for the bucket. But when you are on your way to a clients house with a fresh bag of durabond and nothing to mix it in I didn' t have a choice. I did ask for my monthly supply of free pencils though. They only gave me two, they said that the sales rep hasn't been bringing them any lately. things ARE tight
I get all I want free.Actually I have to pay for them with mud inside.
Or in a six gallon size with snow melt salts...

For a farmer, 5 gallon buckets are like hats - It's just utterly WRONG to pay for one. That would be like a carpenter paying for a carpenter's pencil. It just ain't done.
The trouble with bucket seats is that not everyone has the same size bucket.
OK, I got it. Mix the Durabond 90
in my hat.....I ain't so dumb.
No, I think you're as confused as I generally am.(-:
I want it clearly understood that I'm totally confused.
And, uh, for a dairy farmer it would be udderly wrong. Right? :)'Man who say it cannot be done should not interrupt man doing it' ~ Chinese proverb
