That sounds cool, but at what cost?
Sometimes I wonder if some "green" improvements have ever been exposed to an economic analysis?
I'm not saying you shouldn't build a house on rails- if that's what you want, great! But to think that this house will save money in the long run seems a bit specious to me.

Didn't consider that viewpoint. In fact I wasn't even thinking about it from an energy standpoint. As an architectural concept though I thought the solution was rather elegant. The idea of being able to transform the space at the flick of a switch.
And even without the moving shell the architectural forms are strong by themselves..
Be real easy to paint!
This is truely a wonderful and glorious solution to a most difficult problem.

Using a double facade system seems to be more prevalent in Europe than here. Although it's gaining ground where applicable.
