Help, Help! I’ve been chained to the wall by 11 4-year olds! And they won’t give me my beer! I’m sure glad I don’t have to do THAT more than once a year…
Actually, the whole thing went pretty well, even had enough beer left at the end of the day for a quiet one in the tub…
Everyone liked the paper chains, thank you, and it covered up the old wallpaper – of course the dining room is not renovated, it’s my staging area.
Thankfully you all have returned from the black hole so now I can go back to being “normal” 8-p
Recoveringly, Lisa

The Department of Commerce today announced a stunning one-week spurt in contractor productivity. Not only were jobs completed ahead of schedule, but material orders were placed in a timely fashion and invoices were submitted immediately upon completion of work. Amazingly, across the continent, estimates were submitted when promised.
The State Department noted a decrease in Canadian-American animosity during the past several days. On a sad note, however, the Department reported that at least one Austrailian was feeling lonely.
The Department of Labor noted an increase in construction supervision activity and consequent leaps in productivity.
The White House staff, pressed for an explanation, could only offer conjecture that contractors were spending less time on the internet, and devoting more of their days and nights to work. This is viewed as a temporary phenomenon associated with down-time at a particular forum site. Conditions should return to normal shortly.
*Steve,Now that you mention it things do seem a bit more normal tonight. Not making those phone calls or looking over that set of prints, yeah, life is good. Vince
*Steve, the various and sundry Federal Departments overlooked the Badgered and Abused Minions ducktaped and stuffed into closets by crabby, yet efficient Contractors. Not to mention the whiplash effect all this productivity has had on the Customers and Lumber Yards... they're positively reelin'.One other phenomenon, has been the problems reported at a certain Mid-Western University... Kansas, I think... seems a certain, formerly productive young lady in the University Administration... has been driven to making objects out of paper and staples... due in part to a lack of Construction Comraderie.Film at Eleven...
*Yeah, I got a lot done this week, too!Rich Beckman
*Very funny.... And probably true (except the for the part about the White house staff saying something sensible...).
*I sure found a lot of cool web sites this week.
*update on the Kansas situation. It has been reported that the aforementioned young lady constructing objects from paper and staples is actually a frustrated Arkytek preparing for her minors upcoming celebration. The minor ( a potential Arkytek ) has been heard to say, " that ain't no lady, thats my mom ".
*I broke down and helped the missus with firewood. - yb
*So the lonely Aussie throws stones?
*Or that's the story we've been fed... I think she's gone crackers... (of course I could be accused of "stirring" in the fine Aussie Tradition.)
*..only soft ones
*Speakin' of Canadians, over 24hrs and no word from Adrian, Patrick or Gabe! Lawrence is on his own? or what? What, they have some big dog sled race or something this weekend? Are the glaciers advancing already? (I figure the "be nice" period was lifted by now, eh?) - yb
*Personally, I was basking in the knowledge that the forum was back up, and that certain Northwesterners would be gainfully occupied (instead of emailing certain Far Easterners all the time). But no. Noooo.Certain NW's have to get personal. If them are the rules, all rightee. Plus, today was the opening day of lobster season, so I'm a little distracted what with all the salivating.
*...same as it ever was...
*Yaawnnn, strrrrretchMy, you guys are up early. . . I guess you were monitoring the site hourly. . . I finally got fed up and went out to smell the lilacs for a couple of days. Got quite a few good nights sleep fer a change too. It's summer in Ontario. . . 3-4 months of tough sleddin' and real mushy (pun!) skatin'.Hey Adrian didja cacth a look at that 9 pound lobster??-pm
*Patrick, with a 9 pounder... (4.09kg for the Aussie),Adrian had better hope it was only a "look" that got caught! Yipe!

*I don't curl and I'm not running in this election...but I can't speak for Adrian and Gabe? This time of year the girls get restless, beat us into submission and send us out to till the garden. Is this a Canadian thing. At least she's not on about the kitchen. I told her we'd have to save up to do an addition at the same time. It should buy me at least 3 years. Arrgh, she's home! I'll just go back to sweepin the rocks and polishin the gravel. Background( Door slams, Scottish accent" ahh isn't it lovely, (pause), I can almost see my reflection in the gravel. Now get back to work ya lazy no good knuckle draggin waste of space!" I woulda held up the phone but the forum doesn't have real audio yet.

*I was going to add the same comment. Found lots of other neat sites, particularly on alternate and renewable energy. I even called someone from another website!I also found alot of totally lame home improvement sites!I think alot of other people must have found alternate sites because Breaktime seems slow out of the gate this time.-Rob
*... or they remembered that they do have day jobs.
