can anyone out there define a ” three season room”. Tell me how this would differ from a “screened -in porch”

An uninsulated porch or addition in locations where we have real winter and real summer and little of both in between.

In my mind, the 4th season that is excluded from "3-season" is winter. Which means the room is unheated and not as warm and weather proof as the rest of the house. But it is still part of the interior.
A screened in porch is still a porch, part of the exterior of the house. If it's a rainy & windy day, you'll get wet. Not supposed to happen in a 3-season room -or any other room for that matter
I consider my recently added porch a three season porch, because it has no MVAC attachment to the house, even though it's as much an addition as anything. Its roof is integral to the house, as are its walls. It has insulated side walls and roof, and the windows are dual pane. It's electrified. We've used an electric space heater on winter days that aren't very sunny, though it's usually comfortable when there's bright sun. Location is south west Wisconsin. In our burg, if you don't attach home HVAC, it's a porch. If you do, it's a house addition, subject to the expected increase in assessment and taxes.
