I am on the verge of buying the Porter Cable Tiger Claw #9750 reciprocating saw that bends. The utility of the concept is obvious. Any body have an unfortunate experience with the tool?

I had a Tiger Claw but the toe nails came off. Sorry.
it was actually invented by a local guy here in asheville, nc. i found that out when i retained a new patent attorney and he gave me the saw inventor's name and number as a reference. i chatted with him on the phone for about a half hour- nice guy and an interesting story behind the tool.

I'm happy with mine. It vibrates a little more than a Sawzall, but it's the only saw that will let you do those kama sutra cuts. I cannot tell you how nice it is to adjust the saw to bend around some pipes and ducts and then cut exactly what you need to cut. You just can't do that with other saws.

I bought the super sawzall shortly before the tiger claw came out. Then I bought the tiger claw. It's the one I'd keep if I had to choose only one. The bend and twist feature makes it a whole different class of tool. The only thing that's better on the Milwaukee is the speed control. The PC is kinda all or nothing, MKE lets you start with some delicacy.
