I 1st asked this over at John Bridge and guess what. 6 replies, 4 different answers.
New construction, veneer plaster over blueboard, to do a kitchen backsplash with ceramic tile and mastic, would you prime the raw plaster to seal or put it right on over the unfinished plaster.
Gut tells me to prime to avoid adverse reaction between plaster and adhesive, other gut says “But wait, better footing and more to grab on to if left raw”.
What do you all think? Maybe it doesnt even matter?

Prime
The awful thing is that beauty is mysterious as well as terrible. God and the devil are fighting there, and the battlefield is the heart of man.

Thanks.
Glad you did not qualify your answer. Nice and clean.
I'm not positive one way or the other, but I've never known a situation where priming was a bad idea.
Thanks, guys. You've saved me from having to even ask the question.
