I’ll be installing about 350sq.’ of Cultured Stone by on the first floor of my house and will be doing a lot of cuts around doors and windows . I don’t want to rent a saw because I’ll be spreading the job out for a while. Could anyone recommend an inexpensive tile saw that will cut the stone veneer (about 1 1/2″ thick). This will probably be my only stone job so I’ll just be selling the saw after I’m done. Thanks

I have a beater sidewinder saw with a diamond blade I use for cutting cultured stone, concrete block, etc. And a 4 1/2" grinder with a diamond blade to clean up corners and edges.
I often use a shingle layed over the stone to protect the saw base and avoid marring the stone surface.
If any of your cuts will be visible, liquid shoe polish in a variety of colors to match the stone works and is protected when you put the sealer on it.
thanks Notchman. I too have an old skill saw...I might try that and save some $.
I only use my angle grinder for a few cuts, but break out the wet saw for anything substantial. If you're going to resell it anyway, why not get yourself a used wet saw on ebay, then sell it for what you paid. That way it only costs you the shipping one way.
