Hi,
What is the recommended time for a concrete footing to set before it is ready to lay a brick wall (4′) on? There seems to be different information in books I’ve read. I read in Dick Kreh’s book “Building with Masonry” to allow the footing to harden for a day or two. I’ve also read other books that mention at least a week. Any thoughts on which is correct?
I know that it takes quite a while for concrete to fully set and maintain maximum strength.
Thanks,
John

I'm comfortable with a day - particularly if you're only going 4'. I know I have.

the footing is designed to carry more than the block wall/ brick wall
if you pour the footing...you should be able to start work on it next day
here we pour footings then pour 12" x 9' walls on them next day
