I’ve owned a Husqvarna Rancher 44 with a 14″ blade for at least 25 years. Finally – a new coil is $100 so I guess it goes to chainsaw heaven.
If my budget is flexible and I’m likely to get another Husky (probably an 18″ blade this time) – I’m open to receiving some input and suggestions!
Will the new tecnology overide my concerns that the old saw was pre air quality stds which are now a fact of life in California?

Husky makes a good saw, just remember the 18" will be heavier than the 14". I bought an 18" a few years ago for some big trees I had to deal with. Later on I went and bought 14" because of the weight factor. I could have put a 14" bar on the the power head for the 18" but I really wanted something a little lighter for the smaller jobs.
ditto Roger5, I have 2 saws, a biggun and a little one, I use the little fellar allot more ..
If you're not already a total Husky bigot (not a bad thing!) why not give a Stihl 026 or 028 a spin? Try to find a real outlet where they have a demo model and some oak logs set up so you can try balance, weight, and power out in a real setting.
If I needed that coil, I'd look here before I bought a new saw.

Thanks for the heads up on Ebay for the coil - this thing's so old........I guess you CAN find anthing there.
Also - I do have a little saw that gets it fair share of use and agree that 2 saws is the way to go. that's why the 18 seemed to make sense.
Thanks....
