We’re replacing a three-ply beam on a 60 year old deck; rotted out on one end.
Because of stuff mounted between the joists, we are removing 3-4 rows of deck planking so we can get to what we need from up above.
When the guys took up the first plank the ends look like this pictures. Suspect that there has not been much maintenance done to keep stuff out of the butt splices, etc.
I have no reason to believe that the rest of the planking looks a lot different.
Time to replace?
