I’m currently planning a rehab of a small one bedroom unit in the course of which I want to move a first floor toilet. The question I have is whether I can run the drain line from the new location through an unheated (and in the winter likely to freeze) crawl space. The water lines will obviously have to run through the walls above the crawl space, but gravity dictates that I can’t do that with the drain.
So, will am I ok to run this drain +/- 20′ through the cold crawls space, or am just asking for a frozen drain come February?

You should have no problem if you don't have a stoppage, its done all the time. The 20 foot distance should have a vent on it near the toilet, 2in. i.d. min. [ For your information a sewer or waste line has water in it a very short amount of time]. Lots of luck.
