I have a couple of Oxy-lite bags coming and was going to use my old belt. But figured I’d try a padded belt.
The way the bags hang off the belt makes a big difference. I’ve always had my belt go through the loop of the bag. but that would cover up the padding on a padded belt right where you need it the most.
From the looks of the pictures some of them have a second outside belt that the bag hangs on.
Does this work as well as the ones where the bag is sewn onto the belt?
If I’m going with the padded belt, I might as well go all the way. Should I figure out which bags I like ( they’re coming ) and the send them back to be hung off a padded belt? I’m going to e-mail occidental to see what’s up.

I'm still working on getting the right bags. Occidental doesn't make the bag I want and doesn't do costom work.
They have a belt sytem that looks really comfortable. It's the stronghold system. See below. But all I want on the belt is a double bag on both sides. Is there another nailbag maker that I can look at? There's just too much junk on this thing for me. The one on the above is what I want on the belt system belowView ImageView Image

Build your own belt. They sell the pouches seperate so you can make up your own configiration.Who Dares Wins.
Let me get this straight. Buy the stronghold framer and then modify it by taking stuff of and maybe riveting on a new pouch. I thought of that but was trying not to. It's not that I'm cheap. It's just that if I spend a lot on something you'd think it would be what I want.
They should put any of their bags on the stronghold system. They might not want the headache though.
I wasn't thinking of the stronghold. I was thinking of any of their other belts.Who Dares Wins.
I think that Lee Valley sells a build a belt system.
Think Gunner was talking about buying the single bags[your pic] and finding a padded belt else where.
I didn't do it....the buck does NOT stop here.
O.K. got it. So I have a few choices on the belts. One looks really padded, maybe too much. The other looks like it has a pad with an outer belt/web. Which one would be better to attach my bags to?View Image

The bottom one looks like I could just put the outter belt through my pouch loop.
In your photo I have the fully padded belt on the top. It works fine. The other one looks like what they use on the Stronghold adjustable rig. I have tried that rig on and it seems really comfy - in the store. Have seen it on a job and it looked very efficient. Any owners want to talk about it?FWIW - After years of trying to keep my pants up with bags on and fiddling with those $10 suspenders, I bought the Oxy XXL belt and their suspender system (really good). Now belt the bags below my pants belt - like a gunslinger. Pants stay up. Don't have to wear logger jeans with their own suspenders. The ToolBear

FWIW...any time I have riveted my bags to my belt ( I hate it when the bags slide around) I use a drilled penny and a copper slate nail.Peen the end of the nail using the penny as a washer. When i found that that may be TOO permanent I have used them REAL big safty pins that come with a hunting license holder.Still using my "nailers" after about 12 yrs of on and off use.
