Not really a post about building, but it’s about tools. My old standby 7 Corners Hardware.is closed. They were always my go to for many of my tools. They were also my ‘Sears Christmas Toy Catalog’ of tools. It was a place I could go to compare brands, compare prices, compare features, etc. I liked it because I could find everything from blades to bits to nails to glue to goggles to….etc etc all in one catalog My question now is…. Where does everyone go now for all these things? Is there anything similar out there or am I left with nothing but Google and Amazon?
Thanks, and keep your fingers safe. (I’ve still got 9 1/2)

There is nothing like 7 corners anymore, and the tools today are nothing like the ones 7 corners used to sell. Everything is now offshored, and not made to the same quality as before.
Well, there's always the Harbor Freight catalog.
(I think Rockler still sells a few tools, and they at least used to carry decent quality stuff. Haven't checked recently, though.)
(Even the Sears here is closed.)
Yeah, the Sears hardware store here changed to a appliance outlet store, now you can buy dented up Sears appliances there, but you have to go to a walmar etc. t for a rake now. Thank God for amazon and the other mail order stores.
Well there are a few other places to go (for offshore junk) such as Lowes, Home Depot, Menards (somewhat better than the others) etc. But I like Amazon.com for a lot of reasons.

I've got some good local places near me. I've been to a ToolUp store locally but never ordered on line from them. They've got a good selection. http://www.toolup.com/
tool catalogs,
Now you need mutiple catalogs.
Lee Valley, Garret Wade, Sears, Japan Woodworker, Northern, Highland Woodworking, Grizzly, Enco, Constatines, Jamestown Distributors, Van Dykes.
I am sure I am missing a bunch.

7 Corners! I hadn't thought about them in years. I agree, when I used to perue thier website I felt like the proverbial kid in a candy store.
