I just bought a new house and it contains production home builder grade trim. I am about to trim out the windows, add crown, and replace the small baseboard with a larger size. My plan is to do the trim and then possible do some additional woodworking projects like build a dining room table (anybody been shopping for one of those lately…)
I’ve read reviews of several compound miter saws, joiners, table saws, etc. The reviews tend to be oriented towards the professional or serious hobbyist. I’m looking for a solid setup for the weekend warrior. Basically I don’t want to end up with much nicer or lower quality tools than I need.
I’m looking for a 12″ compound miter, circular saw, table saw, biscuit joiner, router, and any necessary or recommended stands/tables/attachments. Please make recommendations!

Well a 12" CMS will cut just about anything you need, my 10" does all I ever need. Buy a good one because if you go cheap you will have a tough time getting good square cuts and miters. I have the Makita 10" sliding Compound bevels both ways have had it for 10 plus years still works great. I have thought about the 12" Bosch dual bevel slider that or another Makita would be my choice. Table saw also Bosch makes a nice one, an inexpensive one for the weekend woodworker is Ryobi. Not sure how well it would do for furniture building. Biscuit joiner Dewalt puts out a decent one, Lamello is top of the line but about 3x the money.
If you are just going to trim out your house then not do much else you can get away with spending a bit less. Remember you get what you pay for.
