One of our new home clients purchased a Toto toilet. He bought a “display” without paperwork (not our recommendations but his choice).
It is a Toto Vespin. This toilet has an unusual drain connection, in that it is a porcelin outlet (about 2+ inches) located about 8″ above the floor.
There was no additonal parts other that the bowl and tank. We have no instructions. We have not received a response from the vendor. We searched the internet but did not find a site for Toto, except vendors without specifications / drawing links.
The bolt hole locations / floor to bowl are outside of typical.
Help!

Hi tx,
go to
http://www.totousa.com/residentialtoiletsearch.asp
scroll to the bottom for two vespin toto toilets. Click on either one and you get a specific page in which you can get the specs, see what parts are needed/optional, etc.
Happy hunting!

Thanks doo!
My plumber, who is still here at my own house (eating dinner with us) will be a BT believer before he goes home.
Edit
Wait, I went to the site and found that their drain hole for the Vespin is in the bottom.
2 possibilities
Perhaps we have misinfo, thinking the Toto is a Vespin. (we have no paperwork / installation instructions, the toilet was not boxed, the vendor did not respond to calls today).
Perhaps our client bought a rear drain toilet because (as I said in the first post) the drain hole is in the rear of the toilet, facing down and about 8" off the floor, although I have not seen a rear drain toilet with drain connection like this Toto.
After no reponse from the vendor, I wonder why a search for Toto toilets did not produce the http://www.totousa.com website.

" I wonder why a search for Toto toilets did not produce the http://www.totousa.com website."I usually use google to search, and I've noticed that occurring often. the manufacure's site doesn't show up.

Thanks guys. The link to http://www.totousa.com helped me to find the toilet, but another post of mine on Terry Love's Plumbing Forum produced a "moderator" at 1:00 in the morning and a direct link to the missing part.
A pic of the part and hook-up told the whole story.
Anybody know hat is up with Toto toliets and the unusual drain assembly configuration? Isn't Toto a Japanese company? Maybe they connect their toilets different in Japan. Nice toilets, my plumber says they are the best in his experience, but freaky drain assembly. Otherwise, we usually use and / or recommend Crane.

This happens, sometimes, with international companies--they'll forget to register the nation-specific names as search terms. Some of the rest of that is international 'gateway' design, where the web-heads have a grand design that says all site visitors must come through the one, corporate, gateway to then link "down" to the nationals, etc.
Pick a term for that if you want. I've used hubris corporatum, dumb, sloppy, etc.
It sometimes begs using quotation marks in one's google search <sigh>.Occupational hazard of my occupation not being around (sorry Bubba)
