The toxic Chinese sheetrock that was reported on Breaktime finally hit the Los Angeles Times– 1st page of the business section (July 4th). Apparently as well as the pipe and electric cable corrosion, and the odor and health risks, it may be radioactive.

Hey, as long as it's cheap, what do we care? (I'm kidding, but many Americans seem to have that attitude.)
They got it fast and cheap, did they want good too?
Right--two outa three ain' bad. Let's be reasonable! Besides, the Chinese are our friends--just ask 'em. Get real cheap body parts (and even bodies) from them (not car bodies--they go all out and ship us real human bodies--they're political prisoners--well, and, yeah, they are dead and/or in pieces, but hey,...). Now that we'll be taking big hits in the economy to reduce our CO2 levels so the Chinese can continue to grow without worrying about CO2 (or any other emissions), I'm sure they'll express their undying gratitude in some tangible way. Maybe ship us some more lead toys so our kids can grow up big and strong!
What I don't get is... if it reeks that badly once it's hung, how bad did it smell in the warehouse? No one noticed, or............?PaulB

On the *bright* side we might not need night lights any more ....
only if it comes with dimmers or blackout curtains...
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming<!----><!----><!---->
WOW!!! What a Ride!
Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!

Buy union made = Buy American. Supporting union made goods = supporting American jobs. I wish the media would stop telling people they need it cheaper and faster, and started telling them they need better quality products made by people who work for companies that provide top wages and benefits for workers who are well trained and work safely. Todays labor unions are working to take back market share and when they do, companies that make this #### won't have anyone to sell to. You know why, good union contractors don't buy Chineese sheetrock. Union carpenters used to have the power to send trucks full of foreign made goods rite back where they came from. Union made, made in the USA, or its not getting installed. Now I see made in lots of other places products on union jobs and it makes me sick. Especially the electricians and the pipefitters. Tin knockers always install duct work with the union label. Often, but not always, millwork and wood doors have the union label stamped on them. That label means some one made these products in America, paid taxes, and made enough money to support their family and provide them health benefits. The contractor didn't hire 5 illegal imigrants and pay them 8 bucks an hour to get it done in 2 days. Fat cats. Make me sick. The contractors who hire union make money just like contractors who don't. They just make theirs honorably, and support the nations economy, not just their own pocketbooks. Union labor gets paid big bucks because we are worth it. Tens of thousands of union carpenters nation wide have more knowledge and experience to draw upon than any other group of carpenters. They are trained, safe and productive. And we don't hang sheetrock made in China!
You might have an argument if it was just Chinese drywall but turns out at least some of it is American made, probably by union labor. And for the record it wasn't any cheaper than any other drywall and it sure as heck wasn't much faster but it was available.
Amen! Well said.
