Doing some small repairs for a lady and she mentioned her toilets might be ready to give her trouble again. I was replacing her dryer vent pipe and looked at her drain. Down at the end of the house it had a 90 from horiz to vert and then another 90 back to horiz, short stub vert, 45, short stub, 90, short stub, 45 back to vert, then into ground and off to the septic tank.
I have never seen any thing like that. This kluge created a trap about 18-24″ tall. A plumber buddy felt the same way. Guess it would keep sewer gas from coming out of the stack. Looks like a sure way to clog a drain. The place was plumbed with gray Quest with the metal bands for supply. Built in 93 but she said she was having a hard time proving when it was built.

I have heard of "house traps". But I think that those went on the outside and where done away with years and years ago.
BTW, this won't give you an exact date but you can get some clues by looking at date codes. One place is on the inside of the toilet tanks. You might look on the water and drain piping and see if there is date mark.

A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
She was checking in to the class action suit. Supposedly our county only keeps stuff back 5 yrs. I might ask our inspector but if that is the case how could they have any idea what had been permitted? Told her to check the tax records.
Usually around here the se panel had a date and insp initials. I usually check the items you mentioned. Not sure what constitutes "proof". It did not look like she had any supply problems. Many other things that need work.
She had floor squeaks that some mobile home installer "cured" by putting some 4x4's across about 4 joists and putting in jack posts. Floor looked like a roller coaster. OSB subfloor not glued, appears to be ply on that, then vinyl, a layer of 1/4 luan and new vinyl. Thinking about trying some Kreg screws and construction adhesive filet to see if it will help. If it is poor staple job on the luan she is out of luck.
