Anyone have Trex decking? We are looking at the Trex that has the wood grain pattern/look to it. How is it holding up? We are in Ohio so we have all the seasons. Also, the deck will have south/west exposure – have trees around it in the summer. Thanks for all of your advice!

I got some Trex cheap from a lumberyard going out of business a few years ago. Used it for some temporary steps that last 2 years til the patio got finished. They were fine 'til winter came and the steps got cold and snowy. It was like walking on ice. I think Trex has been redesigned since, but I won't put it on a deck after that. All of the Trex I have now is being used as the sides of the raised garden beds. If the wood grain is a textured imprint you may not have a problem.

We have Trex on our back stoop and stairs with Southern and Eastern exposure. As Andy said, it is very slippery in the winter. It also gets REALLY hot in the summer - not for bare feet. As for durability - had it 4 years and it is holding up great - looks the same as it did when we put it in.
