I ordered a Bosch 5412L 12″ sliding mitersaw, with the laser guide from Amazon.com. ($649.00) When it arrived, I set it up and checked it out only to find that the blade had a pronounced side-to side wobble. The cuts it was producing were terrible, jagged and with lots of tearout.
Thinking that the original blade it came with might be the culprit, I purchased a fresh high qualty 80 tooth cross cut blade. No joy. Same wobble, although not quite as pronounced. I contacted Amazon and complained. Two days later a replacement saw arrived (those guys are really helpful!). Set it up, tried it out – same crap! Not as bad, but still wobbly. Dang! The other blade aleviated the problem a bit, but I stil cannot get nice clean cuts. I do high end finish work and I cannot afford to have this crap go down with my mitersaw. Especially such an expensive one. By the way, otherwise, the saw has some nice features. The laser washer that’s supposed to show where the blade will cut the work, is useless. You can only see it in dimly lit situations. Lots of good will that do!
I just contacted Bosch and am waiting for them to tell me what to do about it.
Did anybody have any problems with this tool?
Any input is appreciated.

I got mine last year and it was a recond. from TOOLKING.COM.
Same problem. They actualy sent it out with a steel blade ( not carbide) No joy with a new freud blade, but not as extreme as your description.
I think for me it is just not being used to the added runout of a 12" blade vs. a 10".
My saw cuts just fine, but if I slice a 1/4" or less it gets airborn from the slight wobble.
I know Bosch has had a problem in the past, and supposedly have it handled...mebbe they have a better fix in the works.
Keep us posted, I don't know how badly I want to get into it, but if there is a way to REALLY dial it in, I am looking for the info.
good luck

My DeWalt 12" slider runs perfectly true, so the blade runout cannot be the problem
Call Bosch. IIRC, some saws were shipped with out of spec arbors.

this may sound a little strange but I've had 3 of them in the past 18 months..... all three never had to be adjusted out of the box! the first I had for 3 months and my truck was stolen with all of my tools.... the second one I had for 2 months and lent it to a friend for a weekend and his trailer was stolen.... this last one I've used everyday doing restoration work and building altars and have never had a single wabble.....I use Forrest chopmaster blades and swap them out about once a month.....I'm sure Bosch will take care of your problem. I work on jobs with a bunch of independant subs and we all have our own saws..... I've tried all of theirs and the Bosch is the best hands down! Good luck.1 Thes 4:11.....mind your own affairs, and work with your own hands......
Take the washers that sandwich the blade in place and true them on a flat surface with some 600grit wet/ dry sandpaper. The slightest little bump will throw a blade out. Even dropping the washer will create a slight knick.
A sawblade jambed into a cut I was making. Heck of a time getting it out. After that the blade wobbled a bit, I thought the blade got twisted and on the way home asked the guy at the sharpening shop to true the blade. He told me to check the washers. Said 90% of blade wobble is caused by the washers.
Thank you guys. Let's see what Bosch will tell me to do about it.
Can't say that I have the saw you have (wish I did!) but I have had problems with other Bosch tools in the past and I have to say that their customer service was EXCELLENT! They overnighted me replacement tools and paid for the return shipping of the defective unit, no questions asked. I own a number of Bosch tools and as needed, will replace my other brands with Bosch when the time comes.
Give them a call or send an email and I am sure they will take care of the problem to your satifaction.

I had the same problem last year with the same saw from amazon. The replacement saw they sent me did not have the side play that the first one did. I still have the original blade on it which does not impress me. I am using it for exterior work and interior finish work. When I start using it mostly for finish work I will buy a forrest blade as they work well on my other saws.
I've had the 10" for about a year with no problems. I think it's very well designed. I've found the forest blade is money well spent. I'm careful to use it for wood trim only, I have a beater rigid mitre box I use to cut framing lumber, and solid surface trim.
My experience with any 12" saw blade has yielded bad results. I haven't found any situation where the 10" slider wasn't sufficient.
