I used it for a floor in a small powder room. Works great. Not being an extremely smooth surface, cleaning up after grouting was a challenge.
No problem properly set on a sufficiently stiff subsurface
I did our master bath that way. Not that brand tile, but it was 4x4 tumbnled unfilled travertine. The grout filled the holes, sealed it well later, DW loved it until we moved. Now she hates me.

Used it in a small bath and it turned out great.
If there's a good way to seal first before grouting, I'd recommend it. Otherwise the grout collects in all the pockmarks. Although after a bit I realized that with the infill it made the texture stand out a bit more and looked nice.
Figured the Romans probably had the same issue.

Yes. Seal it or coat it with grout release prior to grouting.
Eric,
Rushed a backsplash of tumbled yesterday. Finished setting the last tile (most done the day b/4) sealed it once, came back soon after and applied another coat. Loaded my tools, broke down and cleaned the saw, packed the van............then mixed up the grout. Never had it as easy wiping down the tile. Do you think, because of the sealer still being damp? Usually I'll seal when finished, grout the next day.A Great Place for Information, Comraderie, and a Sucker Punch.

Could be. What was the humidity level?
I preffer to use grout release my self. I have a gallon from Latticrete that won't get empty.
Humidity was dry winter Ohio.
I looked at grout release..............$'s I didn't need to spend for the couple ounces used. Had the sealer and it did work b/4. Perhaps you are telling me dedicated release works better than sealer.
At any rate, I was surprised and mind you-I've only done a half dozen unglazed jobs to go by. I sure do like the look of the stuff, but man-you can never have too many reference lines to keep you straight.

Tumbled and a backspash is pie, especially if it's not fancy.

Nicely done.
The one I did yesterday was all on the angle-cept for a horizontal feature strip about 10''s up. I guess more than anything it was just time consuming with all the cuts. I get to thinking a real tile guy would blow my time away and I get self conscious about time spent.
No big deal, was back to framing on another job today.
Never a dull moment. More frame tomorrow, then homemade warmboard install-just the board-not the warm. The heating contractor will install the hose and plate.
frickin chilly in there and the sun was out.
Just looking at the list on the desk. Hard to keep from laughing too hard on the upcoming schedule. There's not two things in the scope of work the same. I'll be loading and unloading all sorts of specialty tools into the van daily. Perfect time for total decomposition of my usual well ordered operation.
What the hell am I bitchin about-I should be celebrating the opportunity.

I say the hell with that.........guess it's what we live with.
I'm so glad to hear that you are working. I've picked up enough work for the better part of two months. Ex boss was rather surprised when he asked me to do something.......like what was I supposed to do, go home and sit by the phone waiting for him to call?
arsssshole
so, you were on a sort of non paid wait by the phone layoff w/o unemployment furlough?
I hear that's the latest opportunity for uncertain times.
If you sit long enough, they will call.
For me, after two months............three days in a row feels like overtime. I'm finding muscles I forgot existed.
And sleep at nite?
man, a bomb could go off.
Meaning no disrespect with this but..........
if I ran my hands down your wife's silk stockinged leg.....
you'd never know I'd been there.
Could you tell me please the ending of whatever I've watched on TV the past couple weeks?
thanks.A Great Place for Information, Comraderie, and a Sucker Punch.

You meant if 'I'........meaning me.........you'd still be sleepin..............me an mrs cal rockin the bed...;`)
I hear ya about going back in the hole though.
Funny thing about sleep. Even a week after I was laid off, after I laid out my math and knew I would be ok for a while, I suddenly started sleeping like a baby.
Sress is highly under rated.
Stay well Cal.
Thank you and right back at ya.A Great Place for Information, Comraderie, and a Sucker Punch.
