I’m doing some repair work on a house that has had a combination of wood rot and termite damage.
The terminex guy’s came out today to do their re-application of termite poison, and commented on the tyvek I was using to re-cover some of the sections of the house I am working on. They said tyvek was notorious for trapping moisture and thus attracting termites. He also said that some of the other house wraps were preforated, like the one this house is originally wraped with, and would alow the house to breath better and thus were better for the prevention of termites.
I had never heard of any concerns before about tyvek being a moisture trap and attracting termites, so what do you guy’s know about this?

An exterminator cautioned me about using Trex decking a couple of years ago: "Termites love the stuff!" he said.
Maybe we talked to the same idiot.
