I have installed a laminate floor in my converted garage, with a 14′ X 6′ section of vinyl flooring against one wall, where my washer and dryer will be. My problem is this: for my transitions between laminate and vinyl, and against an exterior vinyl clad sliding door, I am installing some basic maple molding that I made myself, since the fake stuff was way too expensive. I am planning to attach the transition and threshold molding to the concrete subfloor, since I don’t have anything else to attach to, but all of the concrete fasteners I have found so far are not pleasing to my (wife’s) eye. I know I shoudn’t attach to the laminate floor, so does anybody know of some brand of fastener for this type of situation, or some other alternative to what I’m trying to do?

Scotty, I have done the same with glue. Liquid nail or whatever your local source has will do it. Or drill a small hole through your wood piece and mark the slab. Drill some larger holes in the slab and pound some plastic anchors or a piece of dowel in. Then put some screws through the wood into the plugs.

PL Premium or a similar polyurethene construction adhesive is the best choice here. Glue it down, weight it down over night and it is welded to the crete.
Excellence is its own reward!
There are concrete screws fasteners, they have a flat head for countersinking. They are similar to the TEK screws with hex heads. Any hardware store should carry them. You drill a hole first, then screw the threshold down.
