Recently one of my customers asked me if I could install one of those inline garbage disposal units. I told him that I would look into it. The city of Ottawa has recently banned the installation of them in new homes, but nobody seems to know why.

Does anyone have any info on these things?

Also, is there any special considerations for installing them in a home with a septic system?
