Digging a post hole in my front yard. Found the underground feed from the transformer to my house. Nicked the insulation on one of the lines.
Would like to repair this with something better than electrical tape–some kind of clamp-on connector like those made for plumbing lines? I am handy, I have wired our house from the breaker box on out, but this is a new problem for me.

Call the power Co. They will fix it and not charge you....they will just be happy to see you alive.

How badly did you nick it? Can you see copper through the cut?
