Looking for undermount whirlpool that can be installed with granite slab stock on top of deck overhanging tub. I’m trying to get the” look ”of an undermount sink. Struck out with Kohler.Don’t want cast iron due to the weight on second floor remodel. I have seen this look in high end homes with fiberglass units.Just can’t remember these manufacturers . Any suggestions would be appreciated.

bump......anyone?
Any tub should do. You need to frame up flush to the top of the tub rim, stone goes over it all.
But you knew that.

If you are useing a fiberglass tub ,cut the rounded top that hangs over the slab make a flat flange out of fiberglass and mount under your slab. Make sure that you cut it level/square and don't slop resin on the inside of your tub.
yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't we just mount the stone ontop of the flange??????
You ain't installing my undermount tub!

Most of the tubs I have seen have an uneven rounded top . So if you put the stone on top you will have to fill a bunch of gaps. If you have a flat top flange then get too work .
The top gets templated with a "hole" smaller than the top of the tub. Exactly as with an undermount kitchen sink.
There is no difference. You can undermount almost anything if you work at it.

If the tub deck is small you may have a hard time getting a fabricator to do your hola hoop of a peice of granite, we did one and were VERY carefull with it... at its thinist point it was three inches so we ran two steel rods down that run, but i digress... just be prepaired to have to buy more stone and labor ( it took us two tries )

Its an interesting look but when you are using the tub with the edge of the granite over hanging the edge. The edge sticks into your neck. If your looking for low profile you could reduce the edge flange with some slick machining.
