Underside of Pier and Beam framing
Anyone got any good (and cheap) methods for sealing the underside of a pier and beam shed?
The shed will be condidtioned so I will be insulating the floor. I was thinking of adding a layer of foam on the bottom but then wondered if the critters like chomping on it.
I’m only going to be 8″ off the grade and I didn’t plan on using any treated lumber. I hate that stuff…it’s all laced with poison.

What about some cdx sheathing? As long as air circulates under the shed I believe it won't rot. Even flakeboard is probably OK.
Air will be circulating under it freely. I plan on adding some screening so critters (and bums) can't camp out under there.
CDX ...used to do that as the fix when building pole houses.
"Soffit Board" also would work.
I considered exterior soffit ply. The 3/8 is light and fast....and unfortunatly expensive.
I think I'll just paint some osb and hope it survives 5 years or so.
Speaking of expensive, 1/2" Azek ply would last forever. But at $100 a sheet...How about metal or fiberglass pole-barn roofing? You really want something impervious to the elements, I'd think.AitchKay
