I had a customer of mine give me a 10″ craftsman radial arm saw. He said it has not benn used in about 3 years. What all should I do to it before I put it to use.

4 way alignment - back post, tilt, guide freeplay, and carriage angle. Setup for 240 Vac if you can, the 120 Vac start is really anemic and the motors tend to burnout easily if stalled on 120 V.
Emerson (made the saws for sears) will give you $100 for the motor and carriage and have UPS pick it up at your house (part of a blade guard lawsuit settlement) or will give you a new blade guard.
I do not think it applies to all of them, when I called Dad's old one it the serial/model # did not apply to recall. There may be some change though, sure his is at least 40 yrs old.
Need to hit the garage sales and load up. I bought a propane torch kit thta had a card offering $300 reward for some type of propane heater that was in a recall/suit. Never found any on them though. Heck of a cottage industry.
