I’m planning on building a concrete sidewalk using a brick soldier course set in mortar for an edge treatment. What’s the proper method for setting the brick? Should it be placed at the time of pour so that it sits in the slab that is the sidewalk? Should it be set before the sidewalk is constructed and in turn act as a form? Should an expansion joint be placed between the brick and concrete? Any suggestions are welcome.
