Does anyone know what the going labor price is for installing V-Match pine? He will probably want a price including trim. I’m meeting with the gen. contractor Mon. morning. I’m in Maine if that makes a difference

Sorry Steve
I can't help you w/o looking at the job, knowing the width of the material and it's orientation, what needs done with the trim and the access to the place getting it all.
I've been in the trade for almost 40 yrs and I'd never give a square foot price w/o looking at the job and then it would be a total job price. .
Now, if all I ever did was what you call V-match pine-I might offer a guess.
Best of luck.
Thanks Calvin. I'm in the same boat more or less. Been doin' all kinds of building / remodeling for 25 years or so now. I've done my share of v match and beadboard pine, but I've always either done it by the hour or the whole job as you say. This guy was asking me for a sq. ft. price over the phone. I told him I'd go look at it mon. morning. just didn't know if there werwe any industry standards on this or not. I know lots of people do sq. ft. prices on roofing and sheetrock and that sort of thing. Never a dull moment, eh? So you in another thread.. I think it was the woodshed tavern (?) mixing it up over taxes with some others. You seemed to make the most sense. That's another conversation for another time though. I'm off to bed now
Steve.
I think I thank you for the complement.
Arguing anything in person is bad enough, to do it online is an exercise in futility. What I do like to take part in, is drawing out another's personality with what I type. It helps me to attempt to understand their thinking.
I've been in the position to have to give a price on the spot a few times. I let them show me the project, then I ask for some privacy to look at it, maybe go out to the truck, push paper around and think through it. Calculate the numbers, my profit bump and then what the heck-think a bit harder on how to knock it down a couple bucks................
All that's left is selling it and moving on. Having the lower fall back number ready gives me the ability to not go too far down if the first one don't cut it.
Best of luck.
V-match vs OSB square foot cost
What is the difference (roughly) in square foot cost of v-match vs OSB?
