I am designing some bow windows that are window seats. The bow window are supported by heavy timber brackets. The seat ( the surface that you sit on ) composition from exterior to interior is as follow: 1/2″ CDX, 8″ of batt insulation in the 2×8 seat framing, 1/2″ ply, 3/4″ hardwood finish. The question is, where does the vapor barrier go? Is it just above the 1/2″ CDX or just under the 1/2″ ply?

Warm side.
*I agree w/ Mike ,you need it on the warm side under the 1/2 ply, otherwise it will trap moisture in there Dave
