A couple of questions about the Velux FCM skylight.
1) Can these really be mounted on a flat roof without the
normal 15% pitch? The specs say 0% to 60% and I do see photos
of this application their website, alongside pictures of
their flat roof system (prefab 15% curb). Skylightguys.com
says 15% is minimum. Who’s telling the truth?
2) If 0% pitch is really feasible, why do they also offer
the Flat Roof System? To rephrase, isn’t it that the 15%
mounting is really more advisable?
3) Most of their skylights are taller than they are wide.
I need short and wide (24″ x 60″), which if FCM is approved for
flat installation does width and height have any significance
(I mean in terms of flashing and waterproofing, flow of water,
etc.). Am I being obtuse by asking?
4) Is there a difference between FCM residential and commercial?
5) Any experience with SAGE glass? Is it worth the money?
