I have a 1929 Tudor and am going to be insulating the attic. I do not have vents in the eaves but the attic is well ventilated. Do I need to provide an air space above the insulation when there is ceiling butted up to the rafters? see the attached pdf for the conditions I am dealing with. thanks |

Drawing #1 is fine as is. No eave vents required.
Drawing #2 - eave vents required along with a ridge vent to provide air flow between insulation and roof sheathing.
