I live in Marin County north of SF. We have a 70+ year old stucco house in very good shape. I’ve noticed vents here and there on the exterior walls. I imagine that they are there to allow air circulation. Where and what size vents do you put on walls or other enclosed spaces, What size vent for what size air cavity. Also, on new walls would you put holes in the studs to allow circulation within the wall?

lot a times, I see the trades come in to rough in their work, plumber and sparky, most of the time, first thing, one guy walks the job, and drills out the house, even before any material gets on the job. Well, sometimes a few exta holes get drilled, and tempers can flare when the sparky uses the holes the plumber made for his water pipes. Anyhoo, what I'm saying, is after all that, there's no need to drill the studs for air circulation.
