Hello, wondering if they make replacement wheels for the bottom of a vinyl sliding door.
I was trying to get this massive fiberglass tub surround out of and upstairs bathroom and had to take the slider door off to get the beast out on a bistro deck to slide down an extention ladder.
I’ve never actually taken a slider door off its track, so I dont know if I did it the proper way or not.. I got the thing off, but when trying to get it back on the center track and over the lip of the vinyl frame, the wheels or pivot collasped.
Any thoughts? Thanks

Local glass company will have them. We replaced them frequently, as they do bind and break often.
Bill and Mark,Thanks for the replies. It looks like I need the tandem roller assembly. Is removing/reinstalling the door a matter of lifting the top of the door up in the frame and backing the phillips screw till the rollers rise to the highest point or is there something I'm missing. Thanks
Usually, there is a stop on the interior side of the head jamb that is the width of the door that holds the slider in place. When installed, it also serves as part of the upper track. Take this off first, then lift and tilt the door onto the bottom track (from the inside). The adjusters on the trolleys are just to fine tune the operation of the door, not to hold it in place.
Hmm, I'll have to see if this thing exists. I thought the jamb/frame was a solid unit. I'll have to take another look. So you're saying drop the bottom of the door on the track and just tilt it up?
Yes, once you've taken out the top strip (assuming there is one). I've worked on Andersens, Pella's, and a couple of other no-name units, all had the strip on the top (including one inexpensive vinyl unit). Hopefully your's does too! If not, your original thoughts of cranking down the trolleys to get the door to fit into the opening, then jacking them back up, seems like the only possible way to go. Good luck
Most hardware stores in our neck of the woods carry a fairly decent selection.
i'll have to check my local store then. Thanks
