I have a split level house. On the lower level is two bedrooms and a bathroom. My humidity is about 50 to 55% but the rest of the house is around 40%. Each bedroom has its own cold air return and yes the bathroom does have a fan which is turned on during and after showers. What I was told was to put in humidity controlled fan and exhaust the humid air to the outside. I think that all you would be doing is pumping all your hot air outside. So what I was thinking was that if I used the fan and pumped the air into an enclosed space below my stairs (4’high x 6’x12′) and then mix that air with a cold air return and then place a dehumidifier in the space and then blow the air back into the area mentioned above. What I want to know is how to calculate what I take out and what I am putting back. I know each unit would be rated but with out buying thousands of dollars of equipment to measure the air speed and everything else is there an easier way to calculate it
