With all the combined knowledge of you guys, I figure this is the best place to turn. I have a homeowner that seems to think I should add something under her vynal siding. This home is built with 2×6 exterior walls and sheathed with 1/2 OSB. Then covered with housewrap lapped from the bottom up and window nail fins taped with bituminous tape. Then sided with Certain-Teed middle grade siding.
Have any of you heard of waffle board or buffalo board? This was a new one on me. Please help, so I can at least be as knowledgable as this H.O.
Thanks,

~~~CLIFFORD RENOVATIONS~~~
If it were me I'd tell her to use "slip In" foam to just give the siding some solidness and it will add insulation since thats what it is. Sounds like she wants to afixiate herself...lol....
*I wonder if she is talking about fanfold/underlament. 1/4,3/8,1/2 thick styro used mostly to even out old siding jobs when you don't want to use furring strips on the house. It adds some insulation value(very little) but some slick guys sell it that way. If you have a good sound straight surface, I don't see the point. You have break all your trim wider, mount J on top of it etc. Keith C
*The stuff she's talkin about isn't the fan-fold stuff that they use in remodeling. She's talkin New construction
*Waffleboard = waferboard [osb]?Buffaloboard = chipboard [osb]?other names . . . blandex, aspenite, flakeboard, that there bigged-chipped particle board stuff that ain't particle board
*Go to the manufacturer for new construction specs, they will be glad to tell you how they want their product installed. You sound like you have done it all right, get the info to verify your methods and take it back to your customer. Done deal.
*Buffalo board....there is a brand called oxboard. But then again, why would anyone want two layers of the crap with a layer of tyvek between? Trying to stop bullets or stock in an OSB company?
