Who has a lead on specs and details for the kind of box installed at rough-in time, that allows one of the unit cordless phones with answering machine integral to plug direct.
One of these boxes would have an integral transformer inside, from which a low-voltage lead plugs directly into the back of the phone unit to power it.
Eliminates unsightly power cord and transformer. There is the phone unit on the wall, no dangling cords, no requirement for a nearby power receptacle, no blackbox transformer plugged in somewhere, taking up a power receptacle.

Wish I'd known about that... I've done a few of the 'now you see it' installations. I see that they cleverly have you pull the phone wire through from outside the box to avoid having line and lo-vo in the same box.
Yes, IMHO, every kitchen should have one of these, conveniently above a counter, so your wallmount cordless-with-onboard-answering-machine is cleanly attached.
