We are about to frame out the walls for our loft area. Some of the walls will be about 13 ft high due to the nature of the cathedral ceiling. Do you think it matters if we use 2x4s vs 2x6s for these walls? They will be drywalled. These are all internal walls.

Paula, if you're interested in straight, you might consider using steel studs rather than wood. It's hard to find a straight 8' stud, 13's you'll have to grow your own.

The wider the lumber the more rigidity the wall will have once the drywall is installed. Out here, any wall over 10' in heifght, we frame with at least 2x6. This includes interior walls also.
