I’ve got a newer Bosch jig-saw. Top-of-the-line and barely used. I’d like to trade with somebody who has a newer DeWalt jig-saw because I don’t like where the location of the lock button is on the Bosch’s handle (I’m left-handed). The DeWalt’s lock button is on the top of the handle and I’m kicking myself for not buying that one!
Any takers?

Can't help you. I've got the Bosch, and just thought I'd comment that I've never once used the lock button that I can remember! Must be a heck of a lot more important to you. Good luck with the DeWalt. Have you looked at the Metabo? Hint, hint.
I'd go for that in a minute if I had the DW.

Not sure I want to trade since I have all dw cordless but when you find one you'll love it! I had the old model and nothing but problems. Dewalt finally took it back and sent me the new one. Its SWEET!
They totally redesigned the shaft and gave it 1000 more spm. It cuts faster and straighter then their old model. No problems so far.
Sorry, dude. I like Bosch, but I've got one of the older PC's I ain't lettin' go of. Solid metal case; double-insultated; nice, flexible sjow power cord; speed dial on top of the handle right under my thumb. Trigger doesn't have a lock-on button, but you know what? In over ten years I don't think I've ever needed it....

But it is not this day.
you'll regret that trade.. 'poxy a washer over the button as a guard for button and accidental lock ons...
learn to use it right handed...

Contact a good Dewalt rep and I'm betting they'll let you trade even up.
be why you'd want to I'll never know.
Seems like you are all talking about a top-handled grip versus a barrel grip. Do you prefer one over the other and if so, why? Or do you have both types and use one or the other in certain situations?
Personally, I have the barrel grip Hitachi and would not dream of using the top-handled version. It has a sliding on/off that is reachable with the thumb while the hand is still gripping the saw.
I've used both and much prefer the barrel grip. Bosch.
For me, the barrel is much more comfortable to hold, the lower-to-the-wood grip just feels better when cutting...my hand is more "behind" the blade than on top of it. To me it's easier to stay on line.
I also use it for coping trim, and the barrel with the sliding on/off switch makes it easy to use upside-down in either the left or right hand.
I'm lefty.
DeWalt.......over Bosch?
If nothing else, you`re screen name is accurate!
