I own and live in a 4 family apartment building. Three of my apts were damaged/destroyed by the hurricane and have been gutted and treated for mold. A new roof is being built as we speak.
New Orleans desperately need housing stock. My building is close to Tulane University and they plan to reopen in January. I can’t find anyone in New Orleans to help me rebuild without asking for a king’s ransom.
If you have a work crew and want to help my community. Please reply and God Bless you for your consideratin.

Dr. Deb,
I'm so sorry for the damage your home has suffered. You might try posting this on Breaktime where builders hang out. I know that many of them are planning to head south for rebuilding efforts already. I think they already have a couple of projects lined up, but there are so many builders who want to help that you might catch some that can't make it to the fests that are being planned.
Good luck.
Amy
Dear Aimless,
I am sorry to hear about your tragic situation, also I can relate to your problems. My younger brother lives in West Palm Beach,FL., which I am sure that you are aware of the problem that he and his family has been through in the last year, similar to yours. The only thing FEMA could do was provide a blue tarp for his home and tell him to take a number. I drove down there with one person to help my family out. It looked like a bomb went off covering miles. I could not believe my eyes. Needless to say, the insurance adjuster didn't know when he could make it to their property for a settlement. I soon realized that they were not the only family in need. Neighbors were also going through the same situation. There was nothing they could do. I have been building homes for 22 years and finally realized why I have taken this trade on for life, to help others. I feel very lucky to be able to help my family in a time of need. I would like to help other famalies in their time of need.
Sincerely, Greg
years ago, I was hired by a woman to go to New Orleans and some reastorati9n work on one of her properties in the french quarter. Zap, unio hack w/ policeman in tow shows up police tell me to lay down my tools or I'm going to jail. Laid'em down, policeman leaves, union guy gives me a card and says have the property owner give me a call. And remember, don't touch those tools . Called the woman, not a happy camper.
drives the 300 miles down there calls the union,Rep shows up,walks around, says one carpenter and one helper, they'll be here in the morning. They show uo on schedule, she tells them to leave their tools in the truck, sit against the wall and not bother me. I'd like some clarification on the union situation before I'd go down there.
one thing you must remember. They is no money in nawlins, It all tied up in red tape. There alot of work, but no hotels, no supplies, no electricity. No cash flow. Alot of Home owners have no income. They claim when all is done, the population will be half of what it was. And I live just east of there.. 2+3=7
nomoney in Nawlins? that means the union hall ain't rebuilt yeet!
