I’ve got two full view wood doors in a house we recently installed and they arent meeting the top stops properly..out about 3/4 “. Is there any cure for this other than reordering and reinstalling.Any tricks with hinges ect. I know I can tweak the stops but thats bogus and a big turnbuckle would kinda ruin the look. Thanks

Are ALL the sides of the doors finished? This is the major cause of warpage.
Some times you can persuade the doors back toward flat. Block the corner that hits the stop out the same amount that the other end is away (3/4") them clamp or otherwise secure the 'other end' up tight to the frame. leave them 'stressed' this way for a day or two. and they will deform back toward flat . I have 'flattened' doors this way as much as 1/2 " . 3/4 may be steretching it.
Are they new doors ? will the supplier warrantee them.?
If they are old doors then it is likely that they have been this way a while and you will not be able to un-do the damnage.

The four corners of the jamb are in the same plane, right? Don't mean to insult you, but in a little at the bottom translates to maybe out quite a bit at the top.

that's what I'm wondering Cal. You say recently installed. Were the doors near perfect when set and noy they've moved....warped
or.....have they been like this right from installation?
Just trying to get a better picture in my head...not sure if I'm seeing the gap right.
Could it be that the door was installed cross legged....racked jambs......and/or....if tight to framing...or just following framing....maybe the framed RO is racked?
If that's the case.....a delicate swat with the sledge will straighten things right up! If the door install is racked....pop it out and pop it back in straight......
Not sure what to do if the door itself has warped. You can adjust the hinges carefully with some channel locks or nippers. Tweak it a bit.
I know the reset and the sledge and the tweaking work because I've relied on any and all of those in the past!
If it was the door itself.......I'd rip it out and send it back. Jeff * Jeff J. Buck/ Buck Construction/ Pittsburgh, PA *
