Hi All: I have a 1920’s cape in MA. Under both dormers (on the first floor) the wall and ceiling drywall is showing signs of water intrusion. I have posted a picture here In one room I removed a section of the ceiling drywall and the framing does not show any signs of rot or water damage. So I suspect it is happening infrequently. Would appreciate any tips on how to further diagnose and ultimately address the problem. thanks, Barry.

kinda hard to get much out of that pic... How about a pic of the outside showing some flashing or other stuff like that... And maybe inside but back far enough so we can see what part of the room we are looking at.
Here's another interior shot, the damaged drywall is where the wall meets the ceiling above the window. On the exterior, above this spot is a second floor dormer. I'll get an exterior shot or two tomorrow when it's light again.
Thanks,
Barry.
Is there insulation in the ceiling? If so, is it wet?
No insulation, these are rooms on the first floor. The framing shows no signs of water (at least in the section I can get to).Barry.
