Starting a basement remodel and have questions about waterproofing. House was built in 1912 and has a poured concrete basement. Walls are about 12-14″ thick. Basement is dry 99% of the time. House has double gables so rain runs off at the corners. Built up dirt around the foundation so on average no problems. During heavy rains corners may get damp, but no running water. Trying to find a solution that would provide the extra layer of protection. Read about rubber-style selants and concrete-based treatments. Has anyone had luck with either?
Thanks.

Are you talking about interior treatments or exterior treatments? Interior treatments are a bandage, exterior treatments are a cure.
One excellent exterior solution is Delta-MS.

I havent done a sealant on the interior, but have heard some good things about Drylock, I may be disputed on that.
In addition, people forget, gutters help keep the rain water away from the foundation wall if a little drainage is added at the grade directing it away from the house. If there arent any gutters on the house, it may be a thought.
If you feel that they are unsightly you could at least gutter the backside. Also, there are a many low profile and hidden models.
