To all
I enclosed the overhangs on my shop sides last summer.
I simply framed in the beams with pressure treated 2X4’s and sheathed
it with 1/2 in pressure treated plywood. Threw in a few old windows
for light.
Nothing fancy, just dry storage. Worked great.
Now my problem.
The snow and rain this year are really keeping the bottom soaked.
I want to side it with something to protect the wood and look better.
Probably the easiest is to just use Vinyl siding, which is pretty
impervious to water.
Trouble is, I want to go vertical not horizontal to match the general
appearance of the shop.
Any other ideas as to a good siding material to use or just follow
my instinct and use vinyl siding on the lower half and not worry about it.

You may get a thrashing for suggesting vinyl siding in this forum. (just to prepare you!) Why not try ribbed steel? It comes in various colors and suppliers have most trim pieces available to finish the job. How about reverse board and batten plywood? requires a little more maintenance, but would provide the vertical look you want.
Jeff....
You can get vinyl for vertical applications but what for. It leaks and if the underlay gets and stays wet, consider the long term. More than likely you will be doing it all over again.
Steel, like jack said, comes in wide range of ribbings and colors. Some of the warranties are very impressive. Also you can order it sized and cut to fit.
Look seriously into alleviating your water problem first.
