We’re siding our house now and using a water table trim board around the house. The house is a cape with a walkout basement on one side. The grade drops down on the walkout side so that there’s a 3 story wall there including the basement windows.
I’m looking for opinions on how to run the water table trim on that 3-story side of the house. Do you think we should continue it at the same level as the rest of the house? It would be run above the basement windows. Or, should the water table run strictly where the foundation meets the siding, and drop down on that side? Or, both? It might be nice to break up that large expanse of siding.
Thanks!

We stepped ours along with the stepped block wall. The drops were altered from the block layout so the siding reveal was the same. (8'' block/7'' siding). The drop was done with a cornerboard.

We always run it all the way around at same level as main floor, then treat the lower lever with another one or differently altogether, depending....

Thanks to both of you for your help. We decided to run it around the house at the same level as the main floor, and also run it along the foundation on the walkout side. Looks good.
