It’s not what you think!
Check out the refrigerator in the pic…it’s like an upper cabinet. Very state-of-the-art when installed in 1960. Being in this house is like stepping into a time warp…same owner since new.
Anyway the old girl is on it’s last legs and I’m looking at modifying the cabs for a conventional upright refrigerator, but the preferred way would be to find something that would fit in the space of existing. It would also preserve a wonderful old house’s character. Refrigeration guys have told the HO it’s terminal.
Anyone seen anything like it currently available? I’m thinking commercial stuff, but my search starts here, where all the real knowledge is ;).
From here, I Google!

Check with an outfit like SubZero. But be prepared to pay like it was made with solid gold.
There's all sorts of short refrigerators and freezers out there intended to go under counters or under bars. Maybe two or three of them would fit your space.
Installing 'em may be a challenge....
The only thing that comes to mind is to check the European or Asain appliance market. Or you could mount three college dorm friges on the wall.
Check with resterant supply houses.
Here is one of that general style.

That's cool. I've always wanted true built in refrigeration. Two ways that I would go about:
First is to buy 2 or 3 apartment refrigerators, build them into one unit, maybe with extra rigid foam insulation around it. Still not that efficient though, and freezer space is a problem.
Find a good refer tech guy to work with, you build the case, he builds the compressor/coils, etc. system. the compressor can be hidden a little ways away.
Around here there are a lot of cold storage warehouses, so the college has a refrigeration technology department, I'd think those guys are more knowledgable than most appliance repairmen.

"so it goes"
I am thinking - the display style glass front ref which you see in diners. Your biggest hurdle will be to find something with such a shallow depth. That's why the unit that is there has the compressor ABOVE the units.
