I’m planning for some decorative work I’d like to do on our new construction, and what I’d like to get a line on are those wooden decorative carvings that have been cut flat on the backside so they can be glued/brad nailed onto places like mantles, bar fronts, cabinet faces, etc. Common shapes are ropes, ribbons and flowers…but I’d like to see if I can find some variety. But I can’t think of a name for them that I can Google. Anyone have an idea?

Big boxes have some of this stuff too, but not a huge selection around here anyway.
Try Rockler also.
And Outwater Plastics
For the real high end stuff......Enkeboll
Google= wood appliques
I believe the word you are looking for is Corbel.
A search on Architectural Mouldings should keep you busy for a week or so.

One of the originals. Classic lines, great proportions. If you order their main catalog you will have more choices than you know what to do with. Worth the $ great old photos.
