I’m trying to condition my pine floor before i stain it won’t have that “blotchy” look that pine gets. The “conditioner” only comes in quarts at my Home Depot. I bought one and it seems to be varnish that was thinned down by about 10:1. Is this what it really is? I’ve heard of using glue or shellac mixed very thin to condition furniture. What do you guys think? I have 900 sq ft to do, and am putting polyurathane over it. What is this prestain stuff really? Thanks in advance for your time!
